Week 26 Cash Cold Case – A look back at my Draftkings EPL DFS Cash Lineup

I’d like to take this opportunity to introduce myself, my username on DFS sites is inittobinkit, a few of you may have spotted me around the NBA slack channel asking rookie questions. Being a Brit I’m very much a novice in the 3 major US sports, what I do have a scooby about is Soccer. You’ll usually be able to find me in the slack channel in the hour leading up to each slate.

I’ll start these articles by breaking down my cash lineup from last week and then I`ll give my top 3 cash locks and a selection of GPP players for the upcoming slate later on in the week. I’m new to the blogging sphere so any opinions on ways this can be improved are welcome.

A profitable lineup in a week where 83.25 was the cash line across double ups and a win ratio of 75% in head to head games.

GK

I’m a firm believer in selecting goal keeper last and get whoever fits as long as it correlates with your lineup. This is maybe the highest variance position in all of DFS. This week I lost at goalkeeper roulette.

Defenders

A poor showing from my defenders this week, thankfully it was a week with no stand out performers. The high prices of some middling midfielders forced your hand in paying down at defender this week. Charlie Daniels was a solid play with a shot at a CS with Stokes poor showing in front of goal and had the chance of popping up with some attacking returns playing at wingback.

I fancied Brighton’s chances against an injury-ridden West Ham side and only 2 crosses from Schelotto was a big disappointment in a 3-1 victory. Hey, at least he was cheap!

Midfielders

Marc Albrighton was a stone cold lock for me this week in cash games. With Riyad Mahrez currently unhappy at the club and sitting out of training, he was in for a monopoly of set pieces. Always remember to look for players with an increased opportunity on set pieces, this is one of the only predictable parts of soccer.

Chris Brunt and Joao Mario were two mid-priced options I was high on due to their share of set pieces. Brunt was closely priced with his teams opposite winger Matty Phillips. The kicker for me was set pieces taken on the year where Brunt smashed Phillips 29 to 14. Look out for Brunt in good spots, when he starts he tends to deliver.

Forwards

The forward options this week weren’t too exciting. Man United was the biggest favourite on the slate and people were likely to take either Lukaku or Sanchez for their exposure, some squeezing in both. Sanchez playing out wide gave him a better shot at picking up peripheral stats which made the decision for me. He delivered in style despite having a penalty kick saved.

My second forward was Jordan Ibe. Bournemouth was a team I was targeting across both cash and GPP due to their opposition. Again playing wide and with a share of set pieces both working in his favour he returned a solid 15.5.

Stay tuned for part 2 where I will breakdown this weekend’s slate!
