It’s kinda a weird slate, so buckle up! Gameweek 28, here we go.

Liverpool v West Ham

It is only fitting that we start with this game as it is the mountain among mole hills. The first thing you need to decide is how much Liverpool you want on this slate in cash.  You can do what you want in GPP, but Liverpool is the only big name on the slate and regardless of your thoughts, getting a piece of this game in cash is necessary because your opponents will.  It starts with Mo Salah.  He is ridiculously expensive and if I am playing him, then it is likely in cash over GPP.  He has a good track record in games at home.  I will take that as an anchor as see what happens.  If I am not using Salah, it is Roberto Firmino. West Ham has been generous to forwards when they go on the road and 30% of the chances they concede are in the center. Sure, that doesn’t look so good when you consider that there are 3 zones (Left, Center, Right), but that missing 3% to bring it to an even split does not go in Salah’s direction.  Just saying.

Watford v Everton

Don’t worry. I didn’t bring you here to waste your time with Salah and Firmino. From here on out it’s the nitty gritty and it starts with the hammer match.  Please do not fade the hammer.  I still see way too many people fading the hammer. Yes, you can cash without it.  This week, though, it is the 2nd highest total on the slate and you need points.  Watford is favored but I think there is viability on both ends of the pitch. Let’s start with the home side.

Looking first at the home side, I can see that Watford should be able to attack from the left and the center.  Based on past performances, I would only consider Doucoure a cash option for Fanduel.  On Draftkings, the only cash play I can recommend is Daryl Janmaat.  I think his upside for his price is a bit capped, but he involved in their attack enough to return cash value. On the other side of the pitch, the first place I want to look is Gylfi Sigurdsson.  He is starting to heat up a bit and they are starting to use him a bit more.  I love that Watford is vulnerable from the left and have given up the most road goals to midfielders.  I actually like him in all formats on Draftkings.

In typical fashion, I love the hammer match and to see all my plays you will need to join us in our slack channel.

Best of the Rest

This is the part of the show where we highlight some cash plays for the games we didn’t really get a chance to talk about or the best cash plays left on the slate.

  • Kenedy, NEW – Bournemouth has been conceding their fair share of chances from the left attacking side.  Kenedy has been filling up the stat sheet while manning that left side.  He even leads his team in shots over the last 3 weeks. This is a good spot at a price that doesn’t break the bank.

  • Martin Olsson, SWA – In the last 3 weeks, Martin has 15 crosses and gets a few extra peripherals. He is 4100 on Draftkings and gets a team who has conceded 85 crosses in the last 3 weeks.

Between the Sticks

Here are my choices for GPP worthy Goalkeepers.  If you are a regular reader of mine, then you know I like going for the saves.

  1. Nick Pope, BUR – Burnley has given up their fair share of shots and Southampton has been fairly accurate by their standards.

  1. Martin Dubravka, NEW – Bournemouth shoots a good amount and they are home.  That means we can expect them to shoot a little more.  Newcastle’s defense has been pretty good lately.

  1. Adrian, WHU – This play is more for FD.  Liverpool shoots a ton at home. He has the biggest save upside on the slate and it isn’t close.

If you read this article and you said “Wow, these stats are cool. I didn’t know that before.”, then know that they are only the tip of the iceberg and there is so much more inside our VIP Team sheets.  You will find massive stats and our new defense-by-position chart, as well as my player picks, and more.  Join us and take your game to the next level. See you in slack and good luck in your contests!
