Kickin it on the Pitch w/ TreyJ – Gameweek 10 EPL DFS on Fanduel and Draftkings

One of the most important things you should always do in DFS is taking stock of where you are after all is said and done.  Last week, we had the right plays in the army but we may not have had all the right plays in the same lineup.  I know I didn’t.  The winning lineup in the Wonder Strike on Fanduel had only 3 players that we weren’t on and only 1 that outdid similarly priced plays.  What this tells me is we are right there and we just need to keep grinding.  We will fine-tune our handicapping process and get back after it this week.

If this is your first time playing or if you are wondering how you can balance your research for the premier league with your research for NFL, NBA, NHL, and more; then you need to enlist in the DFS Army and we will help you with that knowledge. Each week, we will provide many stats and game odds, inside our VIP team sheets, designed to help you understand what a team is trying to accomplish.

The DFS Army NFL Research Station just dropped and it’s pure fire. It’s complete with everything you need to crush NFL DFS, so this is literally THE time to join.  NBA just started and the Domination Station is locked, loaded, and pumping out winners every night, including some $50k winners recently. Come for the ever so popular slack chat where you have access to industry pros and specific DFS coaches. Use promo code GOAL for 20% off your lifetime subscription (going up to $35, it’s at 29 now, on Nov. 1) and start taking your DFS game to the next level!

If you are wary and wish to try us out, check out these options that could get you a free month of the DFS Army!

Each week I will break down the biggest games of the weeks so you can find your cash and core players.  I will even throw in some GPP plays.  Let’s see what Gameweek 10 has in store for us.

Arsenal v Swansea

Don’t look now, but Wenger is doing smart things and the players are responding.  By smart things, I mean finally playing Lacazette, Ozil, and Sanchez together. Took him long enough. Yes, there is still plenty of dirty laundry to air out down the road but let’s take advantage while we can.

Arsenal is projected as the highest scoring team on the slate and it is where we should begin.  Swansea is pretty sound defensively and they don’t take too many shots, so I expect that we won’t be looking towards their offense this week. With how much Arsenal shoots, you can look to the Swansea center backs on Fanduel only.  Federico Fernandez is 6K and Alfie Mawson is 5500.  Of the two I like Fernandez better, as he usually plays the right center back.  You will see why in a minute.

For Arsenal, it starts with Alexis Sanchez being a solid core/cash play on both sites. Swansea concedes chances from the right side of their defense (the Arsenal attacking left).  That’s his side and he is back to doing Sanchez things.  In the last 3 games, Swansea has conceded 10 chances from the defensive right, compared to 9 from the center and 5 from the defensive left.  Over that same span, Sanchez has 15 shots.

Alexander Lacazette is always in play in GPP.  He was brought to the Emirates to put the ball in the net and he has done that thus far. Those 9 chances conceded in the center brings Aaron Ramsey into the mix in GPP. All of those chances put Mesut Ozil squarely in play. Pick your poison.

Manchester City v West Brom

It wouldn’t be a Premier League Slate if we weren’t talking about Man City.  You will be tempted to load up on Man City and I do not think this is the spot to over-indulge.  While Man City carries a high goal conversion rate, West Brom has been holding teams to a below-average goal conversion rate.  What this means is while everyone is preparing for 3 or 4 or even 5 goals, I think this is a 2-1 or 2-0 game.

Last game, they gave Gabriel Jesus a break due to his high usage while Aguero was injured.  It is possible they stick with the 4-3-3 formation, given Aguero just played 120 minutes in League Cup play midweek. If Jesus plays as a center forward or lone forward, I love this spot for him.

On Fanduel, David Silva does enough of a lot of things to be cash viable and I love playing him there since he is cheaper than Kevin De Bruyne.  I will play him till the cows come home; and, seeing as how I don’t own any cows, I don’t see me not playing him anytime soon.  Speaking of KDB, he is cash viable on Draftkings, although he is expensive.  The two have very similar roles in the scheme of the City offense, the difference is that KDB crosses more and takes set pieces.  They both facilitate, though.

Bournemouth v Chelsea

Let’s check the injuries in this one as there are some key ones.  For Bournemouth, they may be getting Ryan Fraser and Josh King Back for this match.  It isn’t set in stone but this is the late game so the unknown plus the lateness means low ownership.  On the Chelsea side of things, Kante is still out and Moses is still out.  These are big injuries because it throws caution to the formation. Chelsea is likely to bring up Azpilicueta to fill Moses’s spot on the wing and slot Luiz in the central midfield to play next to Bakayoko and Fabregas.

Listing the players I just mentioned in terms of their value to the slate in the situations I described above would go — David Luiz, Azpilicueta, Josh King, Ryan Fraser.  As you can probably guess, the research is leading us to Chelsea winning this thing.  You will see an uptick in Hazard usage this week.  Not where I want to go.  Bournemouth concedes chances on the defensive left and the center.  I hope Chelsea plans to use Pedro because I think he can really take advantage of the Bournemouth defense.  He usually patrols the attacking right side and he does like to cut inside, too.

I have a couple other thoughts to share on this game, so join us in slack for more on this, and other, game(s).

Best of the Rest

There are some solid cash plays available and that is what this section will focus on.

  • Richarlison, WAT – This section seems like it was made for him.  He does everything for them but save goals.  Give him time on that last one.
  • Mame Diouf, STK – I like his opportunity if Shaqiri is out.  He has scored in 3 straight and if he is playing up front again, I don’t think he stops there.
  • Alberto Moreno, LIV – Liverpool should have loads of possession and Huddersfield will allow many crosses.  He is a little expensive given the slate but he is a solid play if you can fit him.

Between the Sticks

Here are my choices for Goalkeeper.  If you are a regular reader of mine, then you know I like going for the saves.  I think this is a week where I shoot for that on DK, too.  If I happen to get the W, then yay bonus.

  1. Fabianski, SWA – Arsenal shoots over 23 times a game at home and is very accurate compared to the field.
  2. Jonas Lossl, HUD – Liverpool shoots over 21 times at home and is not very accurate but also has not been scoring.
  3. Joe Hart, WHU – You won’t find me subscribing to him very often but Palace doesn’t score much.

If you read this article and you said “Wow, these stats are cool. I didn’t know that before.”, then know that they are only the tip of the iceberg and there is so much more inside our VIP team sheets.  Join us and take your game to the next level. See you in slack and good luck in your contests!
