Kickin it on the Pitch w/ TreyJ – Gameweek 7 EPL DFS for Draftkings and Fanduel

Sorry I missed you last week.  I took a mini-vacation last weekend but I am back and ready to go for Gameweek 7.  There are a bunch of injuries that will shape this week’s matches and make your lineup building a little interesting.  This is when it gets really fun.  We also had Europa League matches and Champions League matches, so we should see a bit of rotation.  The rotation could change some player’s duties on the pitch.  It’s about to get real fun.

If this is your first time playing or if you are wondering how you can balance your research for the premier league with your research for NFL; then you need to enlist in the DFS Army and we will help you with that knowledge. Each week, we will provide many stats and game odds, inside our team sheets, designed to help you understand what a team is trying to accomplish.

Since you last joined us, we have added a lot to the soccer content and are adding even more. The DFS Army NFL Research Station just dropped and it’s pure fire. It’s complete with everything you need to crush NFL DFS, so this is literally THE time to join.  The MLB domination Station is live and doing just that.  Come for the ever so popular slack chat where you have access to industry pros and specific DFS coaches. Each week I try to break down the biggest games of the weeks so you can find your core players or the higher owned players you can use in cash.  One thing I do not like doing is writing up Man United.  I do not see much value in doing it, as they are one of the most popular sports team in the entire world.  Even if you do not follow soccer, you know Man United.  This is not a normal week for us though, as they look to be a part of one of the higher game totals of the Saturday main.  So, here is what I will say.  PLAY UNITED! Crystal Palace is massively leaking goals, lately and they lost the only person on their team who can score.  I expect them to park the bus, but Man United is good enough to break through.  You can try stacking them in GPPs, but I would only think about Romelu Lukaku in cash, but he is very expensive.  I’ve written too much on them, so let’s move on.

Chelsea

It is kind of hard to believe, but Chelsea has only lost that first game to Burnley and they have found ways to get their points since.  This is a massive match and, rightly, the game of the week.  City has only given up 2 goals First off, Chelsea has gotten Eden Hazard back and that reduces Willian’s value.  I expect those two split 1 spot, with Hazard getting the start.  He was dominant in his Champions League appearance, doing everything but scoring.  He did get an assist, though.

Alvaro Morata will be a popular pick after his hat-trick last week.  I do not like taking a guy who just got a hat-trick but, in the last 3 matches, over half of the chances that Chelsea have created have come from the center.  His underlying numbers show that he could be cash viable based on how this slate sets up.  In the last 3 games, he has 11 shots (5 on goal) and he has been involved in ⅔ of Chelsea’s goal while scoring 4 himself.  If Cesc Fabregas starts, I think he is the GPP pivot.  Chelsea’s formation would likely have him playing next to N’Golo Kante, which would allow Fabregas to push forward to make late runs into the box.  He also gets corners so there are some free crosses for ya.

Manchester City

Man City is typically a GPP type team.  You know they are gonna funnel the balls to Aguero and Jesus but Aguero broke a rib or two in a car accident on Thursday and will likely miss this match.  This pushes all that ownership in GPPs to Gabriel Jesus. This is enough to make me want to only use him in cash.  He will probably be the second or third highest owned forward.  The rest of the squad is a take your pick in GPP.  Over on DK, maybe you want Kevin De Bruyne for his crosses, corners, and set pieces.  I play on Fanduel, so I rather prefer David Silva at cheaper money and cheaper ownership.  They pretty much do the same thing but it all depends on the formation they use.

I think we see them in a 4-1-4-1.  Leroy Sane and Raheem Sterling probably come into the wings and my personal choice would be Sane, since he has been involved in more City goals over the last 3 matches.  Other than that, Sane and Sterling have the same underlying metrics.

X’s and O’s

I mentioned earlier that Crystal Palace has sucked recently and is undermanned.  This means that almost everyone is going to take Lukaku.  I mean, he has 2 to 1 odds to score a brace.  If I am making 1 lineup, I am locking lukaku into my lineups and I will figure the rest out from there.  If I am making multiple, I MAY have 1 lineup without him.  Should Lukaku score, your guy better get a hat-trick or your day is done.  Obviously, I am being facetious, but his ownership might hit 80% and the 2 guys you took to replace that salary better go off.

Best of the Rest

Each week I will give some bonus plays that could be GPP worthy.  The players above are a solid way to start your team for any contest, but they won’t get you all the way there on their own.

Riyad Mahrez, LEI – Leicester is slated as the favorite in this matchup and they may be without Vardy.  Seems like it sets up for Mahrez to whip in some crosses and take some long shots and maybe a couple more off set pieces.  His comps, pricing-wise on FD are Eden Hazard and Cesc Fabregas.  On DK, they are Sane at 7K and Ryan Fraser and Marko Arnautovic at 6800.

Charlie Daniels, BOU– Leicester has this ability to sit back and let opponents shoot, when they travel on the road.  In away games, this season, Leicester is giving up 21 shots per match (Insert “Wow” emoji here).  Well if they will allow that much possession, then this dude Charlie Daniels, should have himself quite a day. He has had 20 crosses in the last 3 games and I bet he is even good to tee one up. I probably like him better on DK but he is usable on FD.  He is likely more of a GPP play due to his price.

Richarlison, WAT – Watford is 3-0-0 on the road this season and the most dangerous person on this squad has been Richarlison.  He takes on defenders and we haven’t really seen that West Brom defense to which we have been accustomed. He is usable in all formats.

Between the Sticks

Here are 3 of my choices for Goalkeeper

  1. Fraser Forster, SOU (Both) – Southampton has been giving up a lot of shots on the road and Stoke will be looking to right the ship after last week’s debacle.
  2. Heurelho Gomes, WAT (Both) – Watford has played well on the road and has only yielded 1 goal so far.
  3. Lukas Fabianski, SWA (FD) – West Ham is relentless at home and Swansea are content to defend.  They may not win but there is plenty of save equity for Fabianski in this matchup, on that pitch.

I’m getting excited and I hope you are too.  If you read this article and you said “Wow, these stats are cool. I didn’t know that before.”, then know that they are only the tip of the iceberg and there is so much more inside our team sheets.  Join us and take your game to the next level. See you in slack and good luck in your contests!
