Trouble Spots

Will have to keep a close eye on CLE, the model that I use has tstorms just miss them to their south:

That is too close for comfort. Will have to keep a close eye on the radar around CLE this evening.

Parks that Favor the Batter

-Wind out to right at 8-14 mph, temps in the mid to upper 70s, dewpoints in the mid to upper 60s. in CLE.

-Played in a dome in TB, one of the hardest parks to HR in all of MLB.

-Wind in from right at 10 mph, temps in the mid 90s falling into the 80s, dewpoints near 70 in TEX.

-Wind variable in COL, temps in the upper 80s falling into the mid 70s, dewpoints in the 40s.

-Roof likely closed in ARI due to extreme heat.

-Roof likely open in SEA, light wind blows out to right, temps in the 70s, dewpoints in the 50s.

-Very typical conditions in LAD and SF, wind strongly out to right in SF but it doesn’t matter much as this is the single hardest MLB park to HR in. LAD has a moderate breeze blowing out to right and temps starting near 80.

******Note: I use dewpoints as they are a much more precise way than using % relatively humidity to measure the amount of moisture in the air and affect air density. Simply put, the higher up you are in the atmosphere (COL), the warmer it is and/or the higher the dewpoint, the less dense air is. The less dense air is, the further a batted or throw ball can travel, the less a breaking ball will break and the faster a fastball can travel. Generally, dewpoints above 65 are considered humid and help the ball carry well. *******
