JD’s Junk Yard Dogs For Draftkings DFS NHL for April 6th 2017

Back with another Junk Yard Dogs blog post, where I discuss players from the junk end of the cost scale who might be able to help with your line up builds.  The theory behind this is based on @choppodong ‘s Bottom Up line up building videos, which if you havent watched you really should.  You can find them here ( YouTube ).  For more detailed versions, join dfsarmy.com‘s vip program and gain full access.   Use OPENINGDAY to unlock a no-catch 7 day pass that shows you cheatsheets, stats pages, the optimizer, and our slack forums with access to all our coaches focused on making you a better player.

Please remember I am not one of the coaches,  but am really just sharing my own research.

This is focused on cash games on DK.  I am not speaking to what position they or their teams are in for today’s specific games, just pointing out players you might want to look at for your bottom up build.  These guys provide value for their price

Remember, for value we are looking for players hitting about .6 points or more per $1000 in price.  Numbers shown are their price and avg points over the last 10 games, and all players listed have hit value in at least 6 of those 10 games.  In some cases with Defense there is another number in brackets.  This number is their avg points from shots and blocked shots alone.  These players are hitting value on avg even without being involved in scoring.

Defense

Manson (Ana) 2.9 k  2.5pts

Oduya ( Chi) 3.1 k 1.9 pts

Polak (Tor) 3 k  2.7 pts  ( 2)

Nurse (Edm) 3.1 k  3.1 pts ( 2)

Stone (Cal) 3.2 k  2.4 pts

Chykrun (Ari) 3.2 k 2.3 pts

Schlemko ( SJ) 3.3 k 2.6 pts ( 2.1)

Van Riemsdyk ( Chi) 3.3 k 2.6 pts

Russell ( Cal) 3.4 k 3.3 pts ( 2.3)

Goligoski ( Ari) 3.9 k  2.9 pts

Vlasic ( SJ) 4k  3.4 pts

Charra (Bos) 4.4 K 3.7 pts

Muzzin (LA) 4.4 k  3.6 pts  (2.5)

Seabrook (Chi) 4.6 K 3.1 pts

Yandle 4.6 k 3 pts

You can see that guys like Muzzin and Russell are really hitting value between the number of shots they take and block.  This gives them a nice floor which is good to have in cash games.

Wingers

Smith ( Nash) 3.2 K 2.4 pts

Armia (Wpg) 3.2 k 3 pts

Versteeg (Cal) 3.6 k 3.7 pts

Andrighetto ( Col) 3.9 k  3.9 pts

Teravainen ( Car) 4.3 k 3.0 pts

Perreault ( Wpg) 4.6 k 4.8 pts

Hossa  ( Chi) 4.6 k 2.9 pts

This shows that  some of wingers are coming close to or hitting  1.0 pt/$1000 status, never mind the .6 pts we like to look for.  Guys like Versteeg and Perreault seem to be on a pretty good run of consistency lately.

Center

As always its hard to find junk yard value at center, but there are a few to consider if you are wanting to pay up more at the other positions.

Zacha ( NJ) 3.2 k 2.3 pts

Hanzel ( Min) 4.4 K 3 pts

Nugent-Hopkins ( Edm) 4.4 k 3.4 pts.

Since @choppodong isnt doing his usual video today, I will take a stab at a few other comments.

In goal Rask ( Bos ) has the best vegas odds on the night at -202.  However the Bruins clinched a playoff spot so could be in for a bit of a let down.  They also wont have Marchand in their line up due to his suspension.  Ott can clinch with a win over Bos tonight, though they don’t have Karllson again, and they just don’t seem right without him. Rask might still be the Chalk for the night

Korpisalo in Columbus has the next best odds.  The Jets can get shots and score, and have won 5 in a row,  so  I don’t know that this is an easy win for him.  The Jets are running out Eric Comrie in his first career NHL start tonight.  He has seen a lot of rubber in the AHL this season, leading that league in shots faced but didn’t have exceptional numbers,  though he has apparently played well overall.  If he gets drilled early though the Jets could just mail it in.

The next goalie on the list is Dubnyk.  Minn is a strong favorite, but Col has been playing well at home lately and just knocked off Chicago.  Minn has been very unsteady leading up to the playoffs.  Colorado is still the worst team in the league.

The other games Vegas has much closer than these three.

Where does that leave us?  You pays your money you takes your chances in net tonight is the feeling I have.

The TB/ Tor game has the potential to go over its 5.5 score.  St L should be able to score against Fla.   The Preds against Dal also offers the hope of being a primary offence tonight.  Columbus has to be on your radar going against the rookie Jets tender. This is another game I expect to go over on the night.

Hope these thoughts help you out.  Chat is quiet lately with everyone focused on the Masters and MLB, but there are still people around.
