DFS Army NFL Monday Review Preview – Week 8

Our Winners

As week 7 in the DFS Army wraps, we see a lot of winners catching their strides.  Big props!

Check some of these out.  All players learned to build winning lineups by asking questions and capitalizing on the increased access to our coaches in our VIP Slack Community.  Wise man once said, “Winning begets winning.”  Never more true.

Week 7 in Review

We saw a lot of success as an Army.  It wasn’t by accident.  We were all over big games like San Diego/Atlanta.  We called out players like Jack Doyle, Spencer Ware and Melvin Gordon.  We were all over Jacquizz Rodgers again recognizing the trend San Francisco has continued vs opposing RBs.  We were also very low on the night game of Seattle/Arizona….and we all know what happened there.  Hopefully, you listened and dodged that bullet or, better yet, empty clip.  Our optimizer “Domination Station” identified Marquise Lee for us to give us a lower owned value play that took full advantage of a great matchup.  Granted, Week 7 is not completely over yet.  We still have a MNF game to go.  The Army is relatively lightly exposed to this game, however.  Our main play is the DEN defense.  Denver will put many more members over the top in their contests should they put up just a few points for us.

Takeaways

CIN – Jeremy Hill needs gameflow.  Brandon LaFell is a “thing.”

DET – When Riddick sits, Tate gets opportunity.

JAX – Wow are they bad.  Time to officially hop off the bus until someone else pays our fares.

OAK – 6 RBs got touches.  That’s bullshit.  I don’t care what Lats did.

NOS – Brees CAN play on the road.  Just not very often.

KC – Home defenses, when heavily favored, are always in play.

MIA – Jay Ajayi deserves some attention, but temper expectations because now DCs see him too and will start planning accordingly.

PHI – This defense is always in play.

IND – Luck to TY is the new Manning to Harrison in Indy.

SD – Melvin Gordon is an enigma wrapped in a trainwreck.  3 YPC but a nose for an endzone.

SF – Your run defense is beyond embarrassing…..and I thank you.

PIT – Landry Jones is better than Geno Smith, but not by much.  LeVeon is matchup proof in terms of reaching his floor.

NEP – So good Gostkowski gets nothing but extra point attempts and is overpriced on FanDuel because of it.

SEA/ARI – Seriously, smoke more……goalposts.

Week 8 Preview

On tap, we can see some matchups we might want to exploit already coming to the surface this coming week.  Oakland visits Tampa Bay in a current “pick’em” game.  Green Bay visiting Hotlanta looks like another fuse has been lit.  As lines move, we will definitely report new opportunities as they unfold.

JAX/TEN – Thursday fade feels like a standard thing, but people still load up on it.  Let them, but play the slate.

WAS/CIN – 47 points total, CIN 2.5 faves.  In London again?  I hate this shit.

NEP/BUF – NE 5.5 road faves, 47.5 total.  Need news on Shady’s hammy…..again.

NYJ/CLE – NY 2.5 road fave, no total yet.  Just target the CLE defense with standard producers from the Jets.

DET/HOU – Texans favored 2.5, no total.   Osweiler low priced in dfs, overpriced in real life.  Nuk hurt by other solid pieces.

KC/IND – KC 2.5 road faves, 49.5 total.  Sexy possibilities if KC could ever take to the air.  Indy will.

SEA/NOS – Seattle 3 point road fave.  I’m feeling the road fave theme this week.  Generally leads to more unpredictable weeks.  Brees at home, though, will be interesting vs Legion of Boom.

OAK/TBB – Bucs 1 pt faves, 49 point total.  Shootout potential.  Maybe Winston shows us he’s best QB in Florida?

ARI/CAR – Carolina 1 pt fave, no total.  Is Palmer old, regressing, or will he surprise vs softer CAR secondary on road?

SD/DEN – Broncs 6.5 fave, no total.  Division game, but yikes.  Loving Manny and DThom though.

GB/ATL – 52.5 over/under, Atlanta small home fave of 2.5 points.  Love this one.  This week’s OK Corral.

PHI/DAL – 43.5 total, Cowboys favored 4.5.  Not a lot of goodness for fantasy here.  Battle of rookie QBs should be fun, though.

MIN/CHI – Vikes 5 pt faves, no total.  Division battle again.  No Hoyer and facing nasty D…..yuk.
